Heat Recovery Ventilation

The heat recovery ventilation system, or HRV, exchanges stale air for fresh as a result of removing the warm air it also removes humidity. For new, tight houses HRV’s are a must or mould could flourish in the high humidity. In our service visit, we’ll clean the three to four filters of your HRV, lubricate any moving parts and ensure nothing is obstructing the intake or exhaust vent.

If you have a whole-home humidifier you don’t want to have a conflict between the two pieces of equipment. Your tech can explain how to use both together properly.

TIPS FOR HEAT RECOVERY VENTILATION MAINTENANCE:

  • Periodically oil the motors.
  • Ensure the exit spot for the HRV system is unobstructed.
  • Clear drains.
